Great Ayton Discovery Centre

hi there well, i can't find the post myself, but i am certain that a little while ago i commented on the fact that there was an intention to close down the library in Great Ayton. if i did, it would not have been a happy comment. cutting costs and all that good stuff is all well and good, but cutting people's knowledge, information and education is a dangerous path to even consider starting on.

i am delighted, then, to see that the library will soon be open again, only under the thoroughly modern title of "Discovery Centre". many thanks indeed to Uncle Trevor for providing the below newspaper cutting.

and indeed these excellent pictures!

which i seem to have stuffed up the formatting on, sorry - still trying to get used to the new way blogger has you create these posts. i am sure you can work out what's going on in the pictures without them being aligned anyway. oh hang on, found the "centre" button....

splendid! with some luck i shall be able to visit it and see it for myself one of these days!

a very big well done to Trevor and all the activists who campaigned to keep the village library open!

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
